With the release of the Motorola Moto X, there has been a stir recently with the Android platform smartphones. Smartphone companies are spending millions of dollars in research and production of their flagship smartphones, and then releasing them to consumers. As much as the companies boast about how good their phones are, in the end, it’s up to consumers like us to decide which we like the best.
In this comparison, we will be looking at the features and other important details between Motorola Moto X, Huawei Ascend P6, and Huawei Ascend Mate.
Design
Huawei currently holds the title of having the thinnest smartphone in the market right now. With only 6.5mm thickness, the Huawei Ascend P6 currently takes the lead. The Huawei Ascend Mate is in the phablet category with a 6.1-inch display. With the Moto X though, the design is not straight, rather has a curve to it. The thinnest part of the design is 5.6mm and the thickest part is 10.4mm. The Moto X and Ascend share a 4.7-inch display, Ascend Mate has a 6.1-inch display. All three share a 720p HD display.
Processing Power
All three phones pack a lot of power, more than what the average user will ever use (except for you tech savvy ones). Motorola, in a joint venture with Qualcomm have included a 1.7GHz Motorola X8 dual-core processor named processor in the Moto X. Huawei on the other hand includes processors from their own company, 1.5GHz Hisilicon K3V2 quad-core processors.
RAM & Internal Memory
Gone are the days with just 256 MB or 512 MB RAM. All three phones pack quite the punch with it comes to RAM, and there is also plenty of internal storage memory (expandable options available too). The Ascend P6 sports 2GB RAM with 8GB Internal storage (up to 32GB expandable option), and Ascent Mate features 1 GB RAM with 8GB Internal Storage as well (up to 32 GB expandable option). The Moto X comes with 2 GB RAM, and sporting 16GB and 32 GB internal storage options, however, there is no expandable storage option available.
Camera Quality
These days, we see many companies boasting about their camera quality, such as Apple with their iPhone 5 and Nokia with their 925/1020 (see here). The Motorola Moto X comes with a 10-megapixel (Clear Pixel camera), and the front camera is 2-megapixel. The back of the two Ascend phones features 8-megapixel cameras, which the P6 features a 5MP front and the Mate features a 1MP front.
Software
What good is a beefed up smartphone without the latest software, right? The Moto X and the Ascend P6 come preloaded with the latest Android 4.2.2, while the Mate comes with Android 4.1.
