As hard as Apple is trying right now to inform its customers of the dangers of using third-party chargers.  The company started its adapter replacement program that will allow customers to bring in their old adapters, and get a new official adapter at the discounted price of $10.  But now,  another incident has just come to surface.

According to a new report from Da Lian Evening News, a woman whose family name is Li, suffered an eye injury due to her iPhone 5 exploding in her face.  The woman was making a phone call to her friend that was lasting 40 minutes.  Due to the iPhone started to get warm in her face while holding it next to her ear, she tried to end the call but the screen was not being responsive.  Shortly after trying to end the call, the phone exploded, causing an injury to her eye.

The woman said that she was unable to open one of her eyes following the explosion, and went to seek treatment from a doctor.  The doctor later told her that he noticed a mark in her eye, some material that had scratched her eye, causing it to become swollen, red and inflamed.

Li told Chinese media that she does not expect any compensation from Apple.  She has had her iPhone 5 since September 2012, when the iPhone 5 was originally revealed and then released.  Apple’s customer service department has said that they will investigate as to what happened, although chances as the device will not be covered due to an ‘explosion’ not being covered under the handset’s warranty.
