Apple brings Dev Center back online after three weeks of outage

iOS-Dev-Center

Apple has sent an email out to all of its developers notifying them that all Developer Center service are now back online.  After three weeks of outage, the company has finally brought everything back.  Apple has also offered a token of appreciation to all developers.  All developers’ memberships have been extended by one month, so rest assured that your app was not removed from the App Store if your renewal date came in this period, and the company has also extended your membership.

Here is the email they sent out:

“We are pleased to let you know that all our developer program services are now online. Your patience during this time was sincerely appreciated.

We understand that the downtime was significant and apologize for any issues it may have caused in your app development. To help offset this disruption, we are extending the membership of all developer teams by one month. If you need any further assistance, please contact us.”

The Cupertino giant has rebuilt the Dev Center from ground up, bringing services back online one by one.  The reason why they had to this is because of an ‘intruder’ that exploited the Dev Center.  We aren’t sure of the exact reason as to why the company took everything offline so quickly, but the company has responded promptly with the rebuilding of the Dev Center, even though it took three weeks.

If you’re a developer, what do you think?
