Verizon Wireless recently made an announcement about the release of the Kyocera Hydro Elite on their network.  Starting August 29, 2013, you can pick yourself up a waterproof smartphone if you’re one of those who is around water a lot, or just wants the added protection so that you don’t damage your headset.

The Kyocera Hydro Elite will with stand one meter of water (3 feet) for about half an hour and keep on going.  The smartphone is based on the Android platform, with 4.3 inch 720 x 1280 display, a dual-core 1.5GHz processor, Smart Sonic Receiver technology allows you to hear the other end of your phone conversation even if there’s a lot of noise around you.  For your photo shooting needs, the front facing camera is 1.3MP, while the rear facing camera is 8MP. The battery life of the smartphone is decent with 2100mAh battery to keep you going through your day with moderate use. One last thing, the Hydro Elite also supports wireless charging.
