Survey suggests almost half of current iPhone owners will upgrade

iphone-5s-5cExcitement about the next iPhone being released is already drawing lots of attention from Apple fans.  With the recent announcement by Apple for an event on September 10, lines are already being formed in front of Apple stores so that they can be one of the first get the iPhone 5S or iPhone 5C.  According to a new survey conducted by Ask.com and provided by VentureBeat, we see that 46 percent of current iPhone owners plan to upgrade to the upcoming iPhone as soon as possible.

The survey was done with more than 4,000 current iPhone owners and 46 percent of those owners stated that they plan to immediately upgrade to the next iPhone.  Since there are two iPhone expected to be announced on September 10 event, the survey states that 60% of current iPhone owners are more interested in the high-end iPhone 5S than the budget-priced 5C.

Another part of the survey asked users what features they expect to see in the next iPhones and the results were not too surprising.  Battery life got the most attention, with 40% of the vote going towards users wanting improved battery life in the upcoming iPhones.  The fingerprint sensor technology expected to debut in the iPhone 5S got 34% of current iPhone owners looking forward to it.
