Lumia 1520 evleaks-578-80Fans of the upcoming Nokia Lumia 1520 tablet are in for a little disappointment.  According to a new report from Reuters, Nokia has decided to delay the Lumia 1520 phablet announcement to sometime in October.  The original plan was for the company to announce the Lumia 1520 in the last week of September, but it seems plans have changed.

Nokia’s headset business along with other licenses were recently purchased by Microsoft.  While the transactions, paperwork and relocation of things are taking place, it would not be a very good time to unveil an important product.  Currently, Nokia and Microsoft are still operating as separate companies since the deal has not been closed yet, so the next month’s unveiling will take place by Nokia.

Nokia has been struggling to gain traction in the smartphone market.  While the Lumia series smartphones have been impressive, now only by hardware, but also with the design and simplicity, the company has struggled.  The main reason for the struggle is because of Windows Phone OS.  Currently, iOS and Android are dominating the market with their duopoly.  Microsoft has been wanting to break it up for quite some time now, but has failed to do so.  Nokia has been hard at work to help push Windows Phone into the market and while it has gained market share, the dent is barely there.

The Lumia 1520 phablet is expected to feature a 6-inch HD display, a Snapdragon 800 Quad-core processor, 20-megapixel PureView camera, and perhaps a newer version of Windows Phone 8 OS.

What do you think?  Will you be getting the Lumia 1520?
