BB_Z30_1For a while now, we saw leaks of an upcoming BlackBerry device codenamed A10 in the beginning.  Later on, the name changed to Z30 with confirmation from reputable sources.  Now, BlackBerry on Wednesday announced their next flagship smartphone, the BlackBerry z30.

Much like what the leaks suggested, the new smartphone sports a 5-inch Super AMOLED display, 2GB of RAM, a 1.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, 16GB of storage (available storage will differ), microSDXC support, an 8-megapixel camera, the new BlackBerry 10.2 operating system, new Antenna Technology, and 2880 mAh battery for longer lasting battery life of up to 25 hours mixed use.

The Z30 resembles the previously launched Z10, however has a larger screen size, newer operating system, bigger battery, and over all seems like a much sleeker smartphone.  The Z10’s smaller 4.2-inch screen size just wasn’t cutting it for BlackBerry, as there are larger screen size smartphones such as the Samsung Galaxy S4 and Motorola Droid Maxx that offer a much better experience.  So, this time, the company decided to increase the screen size in hopes to attract more customers.

What do you think about the Z30?  A good step forward for BlackBerry?
