Apple is working on a fix for issues regarding iMessage

photo(1)Since the release of iOS 7, some users have been reporting that they are having trouble using iMessage service on their iDevices.  Some have reported problems with activation of the service, while other have reported issues with sending and receiving messages.

Apple has acknowledges this issue and has said that a fix will be included in the next update.  Here is what Apple said to the Wall Street Journal:

“We are aware of an issue that affects a fraction of a percent of our iMessage users, and we will have a fix available in an upcoming software update,” Apple said in a statement. “In the meantime, we encourage any users having problems to reference our troubleshooting documents or contact AppleCare to help resolve their issue. We apologize for any inconvenience this causes impacted users.”

While we wait for Apple to release a fix, those that are having issues can use a temporary workaround to fixing the issue.  The process is very simple, requiring just a few steps.

  1. Turn off iMessage service located in: Settings > Messages
  2. Reset networking settings located in: Settings > General > Reset
  3. Re-enable iMessage in: Settings > Messages

We’ll keep you updated if we hear anything about another fix and will let you know when Apple has released a new update.
