galaxy-note-3-vs-iphone-5s12:50 PM – With the Galaxy Note 3 just coming out, as well as the iPhone 5s having come out last month, the folks over at Gizmo Slip put the two devices to the test.

The drop test video is below, for your entertainment.  As you can see from the drop test, the iPhone 5s didn’t stack up a whole lot when put up against the Note 3.

In three different tests, the iPhone 5s took the most damage.  The Galaxy Note 3 on the other hand did take damage, but mostly on the side and the front.  The leather back of the device helped protect it from scratches and damage.  What’s more interesting about the Note 3 is that in the front, the screen is protected with a thin bezel above the screen, protecting the screen from shattering, in case you drop your phone on the screen flat.  For the iPhone 5s, it suffered a lot of damage to the area around the camera on the back, and even more damage in the front.

The Galaxy Note 3 packs quite the punch.  Sporting a Super AMOLED 5.7-inch screen with resolution of 1080 x 1920 (at 386 ppi), Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 MSM8974 (Quad core, 2300 MHz, Krait 400), Adreno 330 graphics processor, 3 GB RAM, microSD and microSDHC support up to 64 GB, 32 GB internal storage, NFC, and Bluetooth 4.0.  For your photo needs, the Note 3 has a 13 megapixel camera with f2.2 aperture, and 2.2 megapixel front facing camera.  The Note 3 also shoots video at 3840×2160 (4K, at 30 fps), 1920×1080 (1080p HD, at 60 fps) and to go along with that, a 3200 mAh battery to last you all day without any problems.  It comes with Android 4.3 software.

The iPhone 5s, one of the most popular phones on the market right now also sports quite the punch.  It has Apple’s own designed 64-bit A7 chip, which is dual core, clocked at 1300 MHz, with PowerVR G6430 graphics.  It sports a 4-inch IPS LCD screen with 640 x 1136 resolution (at 326 ppi), and 1 GB RAM.  For your photo needs, the phone has a 8 megapixel camera with f2.2 aperture, records videos at 1920×1080 (1080p HD, at 30 fps), 1280×720 (720p HD, at 120 fps), 1.2 megapixel front facing camera and comes with 1570 mAh battery.  The phone also comes with dual LED flash to give best low-light performance.  The best feature of all in iPhone 5s, the fingerprint sensor that lets you setup a whole new security feature that protects your iPhone.  The iPhone 5s comes with latest iOS 7 software.

So which device are you going for?
