LG announces entry level phablet, the LG G Pro Lite

LG_G_PRO_LITE19:15 AM – LG took to the stage to announce their entry-level phablet.  Originally from the G Pro series, there is now an entry-level phablet that LG is making available to the public.  The company has been working on a budget version of the phablets, and now debuting as LG G Pro Lite, the new phablet still is quite impressive and still packs a punch under the hood.

The new “Lite” phablet sports a 5.5-inch, 960 x 540-pixel display, 1.0 GHz dual-core processor, 8-megapixel rear camera, 1.3-megapixel front camera, 1 GB of RAM, and 8GB of internal storage with microSD slot for extra storage option.  As for software, it comes with Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean.

LG CEO Dr. Jong-seok Park says that “with LG G Pro Lite, we are introducing a competitive device to the masses in the growing large smartphone market,” and that “the market for smartphones with displays over five inches will continue to grow and LG is in a great position to capture these new customers when they’re ready to move up from their current phones.

The LG G Pro Lite is a good option for those looking to take a chance in the phablet arena.  The competition is very rough, however.  With Samsung leading the pack with its Galaxy Note smartphone, there are a wide variety of choices.  LG is known to bring good quality products to the table, and giving many different options to consumers.

The phablet is planned to launch in Latin America, and then in Asia, Russia, China, India and the Middle East later on.  There is no news about whether it will launch in the U.S. market.  Currently, price of the device is unknown, but we will keep you updated.
