Lenovo A10 introduced, an Android-powered laptop

lenovo-a10_01While Google is promoting their Chromebook series, and other companies are following the same path, Lenovo has decided to take a different approach.  The Chinese laptop maker has decided to go with Android in their latest offering, the Lenovo A10.

Lenovo A10 is by no means a slouch.  The company has introduced pretty good hardware to power the laptop.  The A10 comes with a 10.1-inch HD, 1366×768-resolution screen, Rockchip 1.6GHz quad-core processor with 2GB of RAM, and has Android 4.2 Jelly Bean software.

The battery life on the laptop is expected to be around 9 hours of continuous video playback.  This is pretty good if you think about it.  Normally, laptops these days are offering a maximum of 5 hours of battery life (with the exception of a few, such as Apple laptops), so it’s good to see a newly introduced line that will offer excellent battery life.

What else makes the Lenovo A10 more special?  Two things.  The company has introduced two modes in the laptop, one called “laptop mode”, where it uses a custom Lenovo UI with a task bar for easy multitasking, and a file manager for managing documents and media. The other mode called “stand mode,” is where the the A10 becomes a tablet-like entertainment device.  It gives users experiences from both worlds, which if you think about it is pretty nice.

Currently, there is no information about availability or pricing, but we will keep you posted.

Before we sign off, here’s the summary of compiled list of features in the Lenovo A10:

  • 10.1 inch, 1366 x 768 display

What do you think?  Lenovo might see some success?
