Nexus 5 appears in Google Play store prematurely

devices_on_google_play9:45 AM – Highly anticipated Android smartphone coming up, the Nexus 5, recently appeared in the Google Play store.  The Nexus 5 has been leaking in parts and images over the last few months, and soon it will be time for the phone to be unveiled.

Google prematurely put the Nexus 5 up for sale in the Play Store.  The company shortly after removed the phone, but not before someone could take a look.  We finally get to see an official image of the smartphone, as you can see to the right.  The caption “capture the everyday and the epic in fresh new ways” was posted right under the image.

The image follows previous leaks and reports as to what it would look like.  Google listed the price at $349 for 16 GB version, and we assume that the 32 GB version will start at $399.

The purely-Google phone is expected to feature top notch hardware under the hood.  Along with featuring Android 4.4 KitKat, the phone will also have latest Snapdragon 800 quad-core chip, 2GB of RAM and Adreno 330 graphics.  Also boasting 5-inch Full HD display at 442 ppi, 8MP auto-focus camera with OIS read facing camera, 1.2MP front facing camera, and 2300mAh battery size with support for wireless charging.  It is rumored that the 32 GB version of the phone will have a larger sized battery.

The biggest missing feature in the Nexus 4 was no LTE support.  The Nexus 5 will have LTE networking support for AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile; Pentaband HSPA+ (which works across the globe).  Currently, there is no confirmation that LTE will be supported for Verizon.

The announcement date set for the Nexus 5 is for October 28.  Take a look at some of the photos below and let us know your thoughts.
