Verizon introduces $5 daily data plan for tablets

Verizon-Wireless-Logo-lte-348x1961:35 PM – Verizon is always looking for new ways to lure in customers.  The latest attempt is aimed for tablet owners who have cellular support.  The company has introduced a new $5 data plan for all you tablet owners.

This new $5 data plan gives you up to 300 megabytes of data for 24-hours.  If you aren’t looking for a monthly data subscription and only want to use on-the-go or whenever you travel out of town and need to connect to Verizon’s 4G LTE network, then this may be a solution for you.

All you need are two things:  a tablet and a Verizon SIM card.  When you launch your tablet’s Web browser with the SIM already inside, you’ll be brought to Verizon’s wireless broadband portal, where choose the $5 service plan if you want.  You can either use Verizon’s 3G or 4G LTE network for data (depending on which market you’re in). If you run out of 300 MB, you can purchase another 300 MB lot for an additional $5, in the same 24 hour period.  If you don’t use the data in the 24-hour period, it will expire.

As of right now, there’s no limit to the amount of times you can do this.  You can do this once or everyday.  Doing it everyday probably isn’t the best idea and would cost a lot more.  Going with a monthly subscription would be the best bet.  But if you’re looking to use this for occasional use, then it isn’t so bad, especially if you’re traveling to a location where Verizon’s 4G LTE network has high data speeds.

AT&T currently offers the same type of plan, but only 250 MB data.  T-Mobile on the other hand offers 200 MB free of data with the purchase of a tablet by being on their network.

Will you be going with Verizon?
