Apple is on the top of the list for shoppers this holiday season

iphone_roof_610x40710:30 PM – Brand dominance has brought Apple quite a bit of success.  It has pushed its way on the top of several lists such as being the worlds most valuable brand.  Due to this, shoppers know the brand and know what the company has to offer.  They even understand the satisfaction you get from holding or rather owning an Apple product.  And a new research gives us some more insight about this as well.

According to research done by Parks Associates, Apple is the most widely known brand in several categories such as tablets, smartphones, laptops, and MP3 players.  The company for the first time ever has even overtaken Dell in the ‘preferred brand of desktop.’

Parks Associates’ John Barrett states that “being the ‘preferred’ brand is certainly an advantage, but consumers can still change their minds.”  This is very true seeing as Apple’s products cost a premium and cause a dent into the wallets of many individuals.  He goes onto give an example, stating that “[For example,] with streaming media players, Apple is the preferred brand, but many shoppers ultimately end up getting a Roku. Last year, among younger (18-34) shoppers for this device, 34% planned to buy an Apple, and 15% planned to buy a Roku. In a later survey of actual purchases, we found 24% bought an Apple TV and 29% bought a Roku player.

Even though Apple may be the most preferred brand in several categories, it remains to be seen if this will turn up a lot of sales for the company.  Apple products are getting main stream attention, however, people also look at their wallets to see what’s most affordable.
