Verizon officially announces the availability of Motorola Moto G

moto-g12:15 PM – We knew it was coming, according to a recent leak by a Best Buy employee.  The shockingly priced at just $99 Moto G will be available for customers to order, or pick up at participating retail stores.  We know that Best Buy will be carrying the smartphone, and surely Verizon themselves will be making it available online, and at retail stores.

Starting January 9, you can pick up the Moto G, according to an official announcement made today by Verizon.  The Moto G is offered by Motorola for $179, however we knew that it was the GSM variant that runs on carriers like AT&T.  Verizon has its own CDMA variant that is supported by the Moto G.  Prepaid plans start at just $60 per month for unlimited talk and text with 2GB of data.  If you want to get more data, you can add 4GB for an additional $10.

Before purchasing, remember that the Moto G does not have LTE, unlike its older brother Moto X.  The Moto G sports a 4.5-inch, 720p display and a Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB RAM, and Android 4.3.  Verizon’s 3G network isn’t the best either, so you will have decent experience on Verizon’s network.  For the penny-pinchers, this is one heck of a deal.  Don’t pass it up.
