Meet MarketBot’s The Replicator Mini 3D Printer

Screen Shot 2014-01-07 at 12.52.19 PM 1:00 PM — Stratasys-owned MakerBot’s new objective is to bring 3D printing technology to the masses.  The company is known for creating one of the best 3D printers in the fast-growing industry.  In recent years, 3D printing technology has really taken off.  The only problem was that the cost was so high that not many could afford them.  However, MakerBot is looking to change that.  Meet “The Replicator Mini,” a new affordable 3D printer that you can actually buy without burning a hole in your wallet.

Unveiled at CES 2014, MakerBot’s new box uses the same corn-based plastic material as its professional printers but with a twist.  It is much smaller and more affordable.  The cost of this printer is $1,375 and will begin shipping this sprint.  MakerBot CEO Bre Pettis notes that it’s also remarkably simple.

“[The Replicator Mini is] a compact 3D printer for everyone, from beginners to professionals. This is our consumer 3D printer, for one-touch 3D printing,” Pettis said on stage during MakerBot’s CES 2014 event.  All you have to do is press one button, load your design and print.  It’s very simple and easy.

Will you be getting one?
