According to Steven Troughton-Smith’s tweet, the dual-camera on the back of the iPhone x will remain a twelve megalpixel shooter that “can do 4K60/1080p240”, and the front camera on the iPhone X will be a seven megalpixel shooter that “can do 1080p30”. In other words, we aren’t seeing a change in the new iPhone X.
These findings were found through the iOS 11 Gold Master build leak. We currently don’t know if the phone will have dual-camera optic image stabilization, but since Samsung Note 8 has dual cameras with dual-optical image stabilization, it’s highly possible that Apple will include such features as well.

Unlike other phones out there, iPhone X will also feature an all-new infrared camera. This camera is specifically designed with augment reality and depth sensing in mind. The infrared light is what will be used here and is invisible to the human eye. The resolution for the infrared camera is said to be 1,312-by-1,104 pixels.
This new camera will also be a new central hub to the new Face ID feature that will be introduced in iOS 11. Face ID feature will scan a person’s face in three dimensions, and is also a replacement for Touch ID. It’s said to be two times faster than Touch ID.
Even though we may not see a big upgrade to the iPhone X camera, it’s possible Apple has something else planned that it will introduce with the camera.
