T-Mobile increases unlimited data cap to 50GB, up from previous 32GB limit

Taking on its competitors, T-Mobile has announced an increase in its soft cap for unlimited packages from 32GB to 50GB. Where this move has given them a fair advantage, it is also targeted to attract more sales as competitors like Verizon and AT&T have 22GB soft caps each. Sprint just edges past to 23GB but none of them are a match to this new offer by T-Mobile.

Soft caps are devised just to prioritize customer usage of “unlimited” data plans. The data is unlimited for sure but once you exceed the soft cap limit, the speed gets slower as your usage has been de-prioritized in lieu of greater network demand.

Now don’t think that everyone was waiting for this increment! Many won’t be able to use even close to 50GB but those who found the constraints frustrating, they should be relieved now.
