Tesla just received its largest Semi trucks preorder yet

The Jolt Journal (https://www.joltjournal.com)

When Elon Musk and Tesla unveiled their new electric Semi truck to the world, the trucking industry was watching very carefully. Several companies like Walmart have already placed preorders for the truck, and while many others have preordered the Semi truck as well, there’s a new company that just gave Tesla their largest preorder yet.

Anheuser-Busch, the maker of Budweiser beer, announced today that it placed preorders for 40 Tesla Semi trucks. Even though the truck won’t be going into production until 2019, Anheuser-Busch went ahead and preordered 40 of the Semi trucks. This is one of the largest reservations to date for Tesla.

Let us do a breakdown. Each truck requires a $5,000 reservation deposit, meaning that $200,000 is now sitting in Tesla’s bank. If the truck retails for $150,000, that would mean Anheuser-Busch’s order would total around $6 million. Keeping in mind that Tesla keeps production date set and doesn’t push it back further.

Aside from Walmart, other companes like JB Hunt Transport Services, Ryder, DHL, and Canadian supermarket chain Loblaw have reserved their own lot of Tesla’s electric Semi trucks as well. For Anheuser-Busch, it’s another opportunity to reduce carbon emissions, to start. Anheuser-Busch said that it was “part of a company-wide strategy to employ cutting-edge technology to reduce the environmental impact and increase the efficiency of its operations.”
