As struggles continue, Tidal launches apps for Apple TV and Android TV

Tidal has today officially launched its first TV apps for Apple TV and Android TV platforms. These apps will let subscribers access both Tidal’s entire music library and video contents like livestreams, music videos, and video contents right on their TVs.

This latest move is a series of expansion attempts for Tidal which has been struggling to compete with the likes of competitors such as Spotify and Pandora. Tidal also added support for Apple’s CarPlay and has integration with Sonos speakers in the last several weeks.

Being able to offer the ability for subscribers to reach Tidal content through television gives the company another way to reach listeners, especially through Apple TV because it doesn’t have a Spotify app. The Tidal app is expected to roll out today on both Android TV and Apple TV in their respective app stores.
