If you’re a Surface device user, there is a new update out for you. Microsoft just released several updates at aimed at helping to protect Surface devices from the two recently discovered security vulnerabilities exploded in CPU bugs. The two bugs, named Meltdown and Spectre, apparently affect almost every device that’s been made in the past 20 years. This includes ARM, AMD, and Intel processors and systems.
If you want to protect yourself against Meltdown and Spectre, you should install the newest patch immediately. This support article provides new information about the updates being issued by Microsoft and how the company is also aware that these vulnerabilities could impact cloud services and is working to secure them as soon as possible.
For now though, there aren’t any confirmed attacks on Microsoft customers exploiting the vulnerabilities. The support article states that “Microsoft has not received any information to indicate that these vulnerabilities have been used to attack customers at this time.”
