Google combined Android Pay and Google Wallet into one service called Google Pay

Instead of having two different payment methods, Google decided it was time to combine both Android Pay and Google Wallet into one service. Google just announced that it’s combining all of its payment services into one unified service, called Google Pay.

With this new system, your payment information will be saved in your Google account and will then be available to use everywhere you use Google products. This includes Chrome for web purchases, YouTube for renewing subscriptions, in-app purchases on Android, and even retail outlets with NFC payments.

Google says that apps like Airbnb, Fandango, HungryHouse, Dice, and Instacart already support Google Pay out the gate, and many more sites and stores are rolling out updates in the coming weeks to add support for the newly-formed platform.
