Phoenix Suns reportedly interested in hiring David Fizdale as head coach

After being fired as head coach from the Memphis Grizzlies, Fizdale has been unemployed, but according to Sporting News’ Mitch Lawrence, he may not be out of a job much longer.

Lawrence reported that the Phoenix Suns are targeting the former Memphis Grizzlies as head coach for their team. The team is looking to replace interim coach Jay Triano. While the Suns are interested in Fizdale, Lawrence also reported that the Los Angeles Lakers are interested in Fizdale, despite Luke Walton still having three years remaining on his contract.

Phoenix Suns previously fired their head coach Earl Watson just three games into the season. The Suns decided to fire Watson after the team started 0-3 on the court. Off the court, there was also some drama involving Eric Bledsoe, which the Suns sent to the Milwaukee Bucks. In the process, Watson took heat as well and was fired. So far, the Suns have a 18-44 record this season, which is the worst NBA record so far.
