Starting tomorrow, you can sign up for Bumble without a Facebook account

In the wake of the whole Cambridge Analytica situation and Mark Zuckerberg’s congressional testimony, the dating app Bumble is bringing more options to users for when they try to sign up. You will no longer need a Facebook account to sign up for the dating app. Starting tomorrow, you will be able to use your phone number to register or a new account on Bumble, according to Wired.

Much like other apps and services such as Tinder and Hinge, the app streamlined the process of setting up a profile and adding photos by allowing users to sign into their Facebook account. Last week, Tinder suggested log in issues due to a glitch because of Facebook’s privacy settings.

Bumble’s VP of international marketing and communications Louise Troen said “many” of its over 30 million users have looked for a different sign-up/log-in method. If you sign up with a phone number, you will be bypassing Facebook entirely and must upload all photos and information on your own. It’s also worth mentioning that if you’re still interested in using the Facebook connection, you can do so.
