Yes, you read the title correctly. If you’re a Verizon subscriber or thinking about switching to Verizon, there’s some exciting news. At Samsung’s Unpacked event on Wednesday, Samsung announced the Galaxy S10 5G smartphone. Interestingly, Verizon is getting a short-term exclusive on the Galaxy S10 5G.
With the Galaxy S10 5G announced, and more 5G phones on the way, Verizon is making sure to have an operable 5G network available in 30 US cities this year.
The wireless carrier unveiled their plan to bring 5G service to 30 cities in 2019 at their investor meeting on Thursday. Unfortunately, Verizon cut short of providing the list of cities it’s planning for 5G rollout.
Currently, Verizon already offers home broadband service via 5G in Los Angeles, Houston, Indianapolis and Sacramento, so at least these cities should be included in the list of 30. Verizon has also hinted at bringing 5G to New York City, Atlanta and Medford, Massachusetts.
Verizon is planning to flip the switch on its 5G network in the first half of 2019, and will continue to work on expanding its home 5G service to more markets throughout the year.
