We already have music streaming services like Spotify, Rdio and even iTunes Radio in iOS 7, and now you can add in another company who is launching their music streaming service soon. Beats Electronics in the coming months will be releasing a new music streaming service called Beats Music, according to a new report from MacRumors.
This isn’t the first time we are hearing about Beats Electronics offering this service. Having bought out HTC’s stake in the company, Beats Electronics is now looking to expand into other areas, such as music streaming. President and COO of Beats Electronics Luke Wood says that the service is planned to launch “within the next few months” in the United States.
Here is what Wood had to say:
“We’re going to focus really heavily on playlists, because that’s how we consume music and that’s how most people consume music.”
“We’re talking about real depth of personalization and knowing who I am, who you are, what we’re listening to, what we like, what we’ve listened to before and then offering up music that is highly relevant to our taste profile.”
Beats Electronics is looking to focus heavily on playlists. The company has been on a hiring spree to gather as many playlists as possible, in many different genres and with many different artists. It’s good to see that Beats wants to open the service with heavy offering. Of course this service isn’t expected to be provided for free, such as iTunes Radio.
The service is planned to launch on the web, iOS, Android and may soon come to Windows Phone as well.
