10:30 AM – Up until now, the only way to get the iPhone 5s was through a carrier, such as AT&T and Verizon. Now Apple is making unlocked versions available through their online website.
The company has silently made iPhone 5s unlocked, SIM-free option available for customers. If you go to the company’s website, you will notice that there is an unlocked version option available. Do note that these unlocked models will cost you full price of the phone. The 16 GB version runs $649, 32 GB for $749 and 64 GB version for $849 (excluding tax and other fees).
If you’re looking to get unlocked models, Apple’s online store is the way to go. If you decide to go to a major retailer such as Best Buy, you will end up paying an extra $50 on top of what Apple charges. Now that Apple has announced availability for their unlocked models, you can save yourself some money.
The shipping time currently stand at 1-2 weeks. Apple has shifted a lot of production from the 5c to the 5s, and the shipping times have continuously improved every since original launch. It’s just a matter of time until the shipping time reaches 3-4 business days, or even 1-2 business days.
