Facebook is currently conducting tests in terms of eBay Daily Deals in its marketplace. The social media giant’s Marketplace may soon be expanding out of its peer-to-peer sales and into daily deals for its users.
Today, Facebook’s Marketplace began to show a new Daily Deals tab for select mobile app users. In the Daily Deals tab, the deals shown were being pulled from eBay and shown to users. In order to take advantage of the deals, users still have to check out on eBay’s site.
It’s worth noting that not all features make it to commercial use. Sometimes certain features are either scrapped completely before going live or aren’t entirely accepted by the users and thus are scrapped after launch.
Facebook Marketplace launched last fall where people can buy and sell products on Facebook’s platform. The social media giant is moving into several different territories and wants to deepen its involvement in e-commerce. It’s even been considered a competitor of Craigslist and eBay.
Facebook this week expanded the Marketplace feature to 17 European countries, including Germany, France, Norway, Hungary, and Belgium.
