The struggling HTC recently bet on the smartphone market with the HTC One. The company came off to a good start with the smartphone, but sales since then have slowed down. Shortly after, the company announced a ‘mini’ version of the HTC One, and now, a recently leak suggests that the company is looking to release a phablet version of the smartphone.
A leak, provided by ePrice user Jason, suggests that the company will release an oversized version called the ‘HTC One Max’. The specs are expected to be larger 5.9-inch display, an upgraded 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800 processor with a giant 3,200 mAh battery.
Recent trend by Samsung, which releases an original smartphone, for example the Samsung Galaxy S4, then they released a mini version of it, and an oversized version (Galaxy Note). Some other companies are starting to follow the same trend, such as HTC.
HTC is expected to make an announcement about this at the IFA trade show in Berlin next month.
