It looks like getting your iPhone fixed just got a bit more expensive. Noticed by Reddit users over the weekend, it looks like Apple quietly increased the cost of repairing broken screens by $20 on the iPhone 6S, 6S Plus, 7 and 7 Plus.
This means that it will now cost $149 to replace a screen on the smaller iPhone 6S and 7 instead of the original $129 that it cost previously. The price for 6S Plus and 7 Plus is now $169, up from the $149 previous price.
These new prices are also applied on the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus, due to be released on September 22nd. These prices are only applied to those who don’t have AppleCare+ warranty.
If you are within the two-year agreement, it will cost you only $29 each, no matter which device you have, but it looks like Apple has also increased the price of AppleCare+, at least for the larger phones from $129 for the 6S Plus, 7 Plus, and 8 Plus to $149.
Whether you have AppleCare+ warranty or not, looks like it just got more expensive to get screen replacements from Apple. This is not a great look for Apple.
