Consumer Report says old Samsung phones are better than the new iPhone 8

With the introduction of Apple’s new iPhone 8, the company brought some new technology options to consumers, such as wireless charging. Granted that such technology has been around for years. It appears that launch weekend of the iPhone 8 fell short of a typical iPhone launch. It could mostly be due to the overwhelming demand for the iPhone X. The best iPhone of 2018 has yet to launch, and many buyers could potentially be skipping for the iPhone X.

iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus phones are still incredible, nonetheless. The testers at Consumer Reports, however, have a different opinion. They believe that the old Samsung phones are better than the iPhone 8.

According to Yonhap News, Consumer Reports ranked the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus as the top two devices when it comes to performance. Speaking in terms of the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, they ranked fourth and firth, respectively. Samsung’s 2016 Galaxy S7 was sitting in third position. Consumer Reports thinks that 18-month-old Galaxy S7 is better than the newly-introduced iPhone 8 model.

Even though this is potentially good news for Samsung, everything is not in their favor. The company’s Galaxy Note 8 ranked in sixth, after the two iPhone 8 models. The reason why Note 8 ranked after is due to weak durability and weight of the device.

It will be interesting to see how the iPhone X will compare to other devices on the market. The iPhone X is expected to be a full power house, and has almost same internals as the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus. The phone does, however, offer several unique features that are unique to its own.
