Tesla CEO Elon Musk delivering on his promise to help Puerto Rico’s destroyed power grid. Earlier this month, Musk extended an offer to help Puerto Rico and pledged to contribute to rebuilding their power grid that was taken out by Hurricane Maria. This left thousands of people without electricity.
Tesla on Tuesday posted a tweet which included some photos of Hospital del Niño and the new solar power project that has begun there. Tesla is using the their Powerwall batteries to help the hospital, and Musk also donated $250,000 in addition to help with relief efforts in Puerto Rico.

Even tough Tesla offered to help rebuild Puerto Rico’s power grid, Whitefish Energy, a small firm from Interior Secretary Ryan Zinkie’s Montana hometown, said it would get the $300 million contract to fix Puerto Rico’s electricity problem.
Governor Ricardo Rosselló said that the goal is to restore 95 percent of Puerto Rico’s power back online by Christmas.
