iPhone X expected to be out of stock at nearly every carrier store on launch day

The demand for the iPhone X is off the charts, or at least that’s what Apple has said. We’ve known for a while now that the demand for the iPhone X will be high, seeing as the iPhone 8 isn’t doing so hot. Unless you have a pre-ordered iPhone X confirmed, finding the smartphone on launch day will be very hard.

According to retail employees that we spoke to, it appears that the iPhone X device will be nearly out of stock at every carrier store. If you were hoping to get your hands on the iPhone X on launch day, you may be out of luck.

The Jolt Journal reached out to wireless carriers for comments, and heard back from T-Mobile. The uncarrier said that “We’ve seen a ton of excitement around iPhone X during pre-order, and in-store inventory at launch will likely be very limited. We’ll have plenty of demo devices, and customers can go to a T-Mobile store to touch, feel and experience iPhone X and order one right then and there.”

Sprint stated that iPhone X will have “limited in-store availability” on Friday. For Verizon and AT&T, we have not heard anything back, but will update this post if we hear anything. It would not be surprising to hear of limited availability or no stock at all.

So, what exactly are we saying? Well, big corporate flagship wireless stores may receive some iPhone X inventory, but more than likely will dry up fairly quickly. Other than that, your chances of getting the iPhone X on launch day are slim to none. Supply chain issues have plagued Apple but it seems that the iPhone maker has resolved issues and production is in full swing.
