Google’s Pixel 2 users have complained for a while now that they’ve been hearing buzzing sounds during calls. The company today said that it will soon release a fix in the coming weeks to remove a faint buzzing sound that appears during phone calls on some Pixel 2 devices.
Posted on the Pixel User Community forum, a community manager said that a fix was coming, stating, “We’re rolling out a software update in the coming weeks which eliminates a faint buzzing sound on Pixel 2 devices when the phone is placed to your ear during a phone call.”
Some users have gone so far as to get replacement handsets, but mentioned again that the problem persisted. Some users have also described the noise as a hissing sound. Google says that it will issue a fix soon. This fix comes right after a fix for the NFC-related clicking sounds was fixed where several users reported experiencing this issue.
Overall, Pixel 2 has received praise from reviewers and users, but rollout for the device has been troublesome for Google. It’s been plagued with constant issues such as poor sound recording quality, unresponsive spots on the Pixel 2 XL’s screen, and even some display issues. Rollout for the device may be tough on Google, but the company stays committed to their Pixel lineup and will continue their efforts in fixing any and all problems with the Pixel 2 lineup.
