If you’re a Pixel 2 fan and picked one up when the device launched, you may have noticed by now that the device didn’t have the best of launches. It’s been plagued with quality control problems, screen issues, and even audio problems. Fortunately though, Google will soon issue an update that will give you one less thing to worry about.
Google says that it will be issuing a fix “in the coming weeks” to resolve Pixel 2’s random reboot problems, according to Android Police. This update will be either a standalone update just for this issue or will come paired with Google’s monthly security updates which sometimes do include fixes for the Pixel.
The random reboot issues were reported for both Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL devices. The phone would reboot at random, according to various forum threads. If you’ve been experiencing these issues on your Pixel 2 device, Google is working on a fix for the problem and will issue the fix via software update really soon. Even though it’s not ideal to see such issues on a flagship phone, the good thing is that Google is hard at work to fix problems as they come up.
