Disney is once again trying to resume talks with 21st Century Fox to a possible acquisition, according to a report from The Wall Street Journal. In November, we had learned that Disney and 21st Century Fox were engaged in a possible acquisition talks where Disney would acquire most of Fox’s film and TV assets, but they were quickly ended. Now, the talks have once again started, reports WSJ.
The WSJ has cited reports of individuals that are familiar with the situation. They say that the talks are currently active once again and are gaining momentum, and it may also be possible that the could fall through. The talks concern Fox’s movie and television studios, some domestic networks, and international assets.
Rupert Murdoch and his family are reportedly debating on whether or not they want to sell by the end of the year. If this deal were to go through, this would bring a big addition to Disney’s massive content library. For example, Fox’s assets include some Marvel properties like X-Men and James Cameron’s Avatar franchise.
