If you’re a fan of Nvidia, there’s something you should know. The company just announced their new Titan V GPU that promises a lot of things, especially incredible levels of processing power. You know who it’s not really targeted towards? Gamers. This is because the Titan V GPU is aimed at those that was to go into deep-learning AI.
The Titan V GPU promises incredible levels of processing power for deep learning and AI applications. It’s nine times more powerful than last year’s Titan X, with 110 teraflops. Nvidia’s last offering, the Titan X, was a massive upgrade for desktop graphics processor aimed at machine learning applications.
Nvidia’s Titan V is based on the newer Volta chip architecture, which is also being used in Nvidia’s Xavier self-driving car system and also for data centers. With all of this processing power, the price reflects it. The Titan V costs $2,999 (AU$4,800). This isn’t necessarily aimed at consumer purchase because of the price point, but is meant for those who want to have a lot of machine learning processing power. This includes labs, AI research’s, developers, or rather anyone that wants to build an insane supercomputer with deep learning and AI capabilities.
