Razer Phone, a smartphone for gamers, seemed more like a gimmick at first when the device was announced. Coming from a company that had no history in the smartphone world, many had deemed the device to be a failure upon arrival. When we first heard fo the device, the first thing that came to mind was the fall of Nextbit, but Razer Phone surprised many.
The Razer Phone is a solid flagship smartphone that offers a 5.7-inch quad HD display (with 120Hz refresh rate), loud front-facing speakers, and a giant battery. The problem with the phone was that its camera was pretty average, to say the least. Razer heard the complaints from customers and has now pushed an update that is giving some much needed life to the phone’s camera.
Razer said that the result of the update should be “improved picture quality” with less noise, clearer shadows, and punchier colors. There’s a 2x zoom button now and “improved shutter speed(s)” while using the smartphone in low-light conditions and HDR mode to go along with it.
It’s definitely good to see that Razer is taking all the feedback for the device and pushing out improvements. The camera did fall quite short of what a device is expected to offer in the price range this phone is in. Razer Phone is the company’s first smartphone. In a Facebook post, the company promised a further update that will bring its camera app “on par with other flagship phones.” We’ll just have to wait and see.
The latest camera update for the Razer Phone is live with faster shutter speed, better colors, quick zoom and more! We’ve addressed your asks and are working every day to improve the app – keep the feedback coming!
