AI has started to become a big part of our lives. Whether they live in our phones or our homes, there is a new place where you’ll soon starting seeing AI. Both Kia and Hyundai have big reputations for being early adopters for in-car tech, and now will be early adopters for AI adopting in cars.
The Korean automakers have revealed that they will include AI assistants in their new cars starting 2019. They further added that all of their vehicles will be “connected” by 2025. Hyundai explained that they’re been working with SoundHound to create an Intelligent Personal Agent (based on Houndify) that will make proactive suggestions and offer remote control of both your home and car.
While this may sound like what other voice assistants may do, but the thing is, both brands are counting on support for “multiple-command recognition” as they gear up to bring this to life in their cars starting 2019. For example, if you tell your car to check the weather and turn on the lights at the same time, the AI will do both without any additional help.
While companies have said that they plan to bring these features to life in 2019, you won’t have to wait that long to see it in action. Hyundai will unveil its Intelligent Personal Agent at CES 2018, and it will test a “simplified” take on the Agent in hydrogen fuel cell cars.
