If you’ve been wanting to get your qualifying iPhone’s battery replaced from Apple, there’s some good news for you: the wait times to getting a battery replaced on your iPhone are dropping. That’s right, you may not have to wait too long to get it replaced.
According to a report from Business Insider, a Barclays analyst says that Apple’s wait period for getting a battery replaced has dropped from an average of four weeks (back in January) to an average of two weeks as of today. Not just that, it appears that the maximum wait time has fallen as well, dropping from six weeks to four and half, depending on your location and the iPhone model you have.
These estimates come from Barclays’ study of 30 Apple Stores, which it’s been calling to track the times of replacements. Soon as Apple had cut the battery replacement costs to $29, several iPhone models’ batteries were on short supply, n particular the iPhone 6, 6 Plus, and iPhone 6S Plus.
Despite being on short supply and ticking off some customers, the discount provided by Apple will stay in place until the end of the year, so you have plenty of time to get your battery replaced. The only rush you’d have right now is if your battery life is pretty terrible and you’re in a rush to get it replaced. Given how quickly batteries deteriorate, battery replacements could be a huge deal for many customers.
