For over a year now, Vizio TV owners have been able to control their SmartCast TVs with Google Home, and now the company is bringing another digital assistant to the table: Amazon Alexa.
SmartCast TV owners need to configure their TV with the new Vizio SmartCast Alexa skill. After that, they’ll be able to turn the TV on and off using voice commands, as well as have other functionality like controlling volume, channel, and input. In addition, depending on the app, users will be able to use Alexa commands for controlling fast-forward, rewind, and pause features.
Vizio is rolling out Alexa support for 2017 and 2016 SmartCast P-Series TV, M-Series, and E-Series 4K models. The company added that support for the company’s 2018 Vizio SmartCast full HD and HD screens is expected to arrive in the coming weeks.
