The PlayStation 5 (PS5) is one of the highly anticipated gaming consoles expected later this year. The PS5 will be Sony’s successor to the PlayStation 4 gaming console. What will be the specs for PS5?
The reimagined and re-engineered PS5 will be the first video game console to feature an internal solid-state drive (SSD). This will help the console be on par with high-end gaming PCs and help compete at the levels.
The SSD will allow for 8K graphics at a 120Hz refresh rate. In addition, it will have a GPU with 10.28 teraflops, giving it a significant performance boost. With these types of specs, the PlayStation 5 gaming console will most definitely eliminate heavy load times for current and future games.
In terms of CPU, the PS5 will feature an eight-core, third-generation Ryzen CPU. The graphics card will be custom and based on AMD’s Radeon RX 5000 series, bringing support for raytracing so that you can have more realistic 3D rendering.
Well… how much will the PS5 cost?
While we don’t have specifics yet, the PlayStation 5 gaming console is rumored to have a price tag of $499. Insiders have said that the digital version (without an optical drive) will have a price tag of $399 and the Blu-ray version PS5 will cost $499.
This price will put it in line with the new Microsoft Xbox Series X. The Xbox Series X is expected to be around the same price range.
How can you pre-order the PS5?
Sony has stated that there will be a limited number of PlayStation gaming consoles available for pre-order for existing PlayStation owners. This means that you’ll want to be ready to go when pre-orders start on September 9.
