Sony has introduced several new updates to its live-streaming TV service PlayStation Vue, including the new ability to sign up for the service online without needing a TV, according to Engadget. Pretty convenient, huh? That’s right!
You can now sign up for PS Vue completely offline. Before, if you wanted to sign up, you needed to have a connected TV or streaming device to be able to sign up for the service, but that’s no longer the case. All you need is a mobile device or laptop to sign up for the service.
Dwayne Benefield, head of PS Vue at Sony, told Engadget that the move was necessary to keep up with the current trends. “More and more people start these cord cutting services on mobile,” he said. “It also gives us opportunities with segments like college students, who might not have a TV in the first place.”
Aside from that, other new features include the ability to watch regional sports network in other cities and having access to local broadcast affiliate of the city you’re currently in.
