We didn’t think LG would come to Mobile World Congress 2018 with too much to show, but it appears that there really was something happening. Israeli news site YNET posted a brief hands-on video of a smartphone called the G7 (NEO).
It appears that the G7 (NEO) comes packed with a Qualcomm 845 chipset and a 6-inch screen, 19.5:9 OLED screen that has a notch at the top. YNET reported that the device could come with either 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, or 6GB of RAM and 128GB of stage, and come packed with a 16-megapixel camera.
Given how much the device packs under its hood, this may well be the new flagship phone LG planned to reveal after MWC, but there are no details confirming this. We reached out to LG and a pokesperson told us that the phone in question is a “concept,” and LG never had this device in their main MWC booth. Furthermore, the spokesperson said that “carriers and business partners always get to see early concepts” at trade shows like MWC. This is an indication that LG is trying to tie up any loose ends on its sales channels before it introduces the phone.
