Lyft’s new partnership with Seated has some sweet benefits in store. Seated is a discovery app for iOS and Android that basically pays you for dining out. If you use Seated to make a reservation you can get between $10 and $50 in Lyft credits, depending on the size of your group and your dining time.
According to last year’s Morgan Stanley report, 43 percent of people who order food for delivery see it as a replacement for meals at a restaurant. You might think that because people are increasingly ordering good for delivery, that’s a good but, but that might not be the case: third-party platforms and carriers could potentially be taking between 20 to 40 percent of the delivery revenue.
Lyft’s partnership with Seated aims to entice more people to dine out and help create a more loyal customer base. The companies hope that it will create more habits of booking meals with restaurants in the Seated app and use Lyft reward credits to get there.
Seated chief Brice Gumpel said in a statement:
“This partnership simplifies the dining out experience by removing its biggest roadblock – just getting there. People can now use their Lyft credits to cover any future rides, including those to and from the new restaurants they try on Seated.”
Partner are giving away $1 million in rewards where Seated is available: Atlanta, Austin, Boston, Chicago, Washington DC, Denver, Los Angeles, Miami, New York (including Brooklyn), Philadelphia and San Francisco. If you’re new to Seated, you can also score $10 in Lyft credits by making your first reservation and using the promo code LYFTxSEATED. Take advantage of it, folks!
