Former US president Barack Obama is in talks with Netflix to produce a series of shows, according to The New York Times. Details for the shows are yet to be finalized, but the series of shows would provide the former president and his wife, Michelle, with a platform to be able to communicate with Netflix’s’ 117 millions subscribers globally.
The Times says that one show idea could see President Obama being a moderator on key matters in terms of his presidency. Another idea is where Michelle Obama focuses on issues that she targeted during her time as the First Lady of the US. It’s unlikely that the Obama’s would target President Trump directly, according to the Times’ sources. Instead, the Obamas would prefer to “highlight inspirational stories.”
If you’re an avid Netflix user, you may know that President Obama is no stranger to the platform. He recently appeared on Netflix as the first subject to David Letterman’s new interview series, My Next Guest Needs no Introduction. President Obama reportedly also has a close relationship with company CEO Reed Hastings.
