It appears that you’ll no longer be able to purchase the OnePlus 5T because it’s been pulled from being sold in North America. The OnePlus confirmed to Engadget that it has sold every OnePlus 5T it made for the North American market.
The company is no longer selling the phone in North America and was met with stronger-than-expected demand, Kyle Kiang, OnePlus’s head of global marketing and general manager said. Because of this, people in North America now have to sit tight until the company releases its next phone.
If you don’t know, the OnePlus 5T smartphone was only available in the North American market for four months. The company completely selling the 5T is actually good thing, Kiang says, because it brought the company to a strong point. The company doubled its global revenue to $1.4 billion and saw 139 percent growth in North America, and the region accounts for 25 percent of all the company’s sales.
It’s worth mentioning that OnePlus isn’t your traditional tech company either. It only releases one smartphone at a time, and then ceases production once it hits a target number that’s forecasted in advance. The company is trying to start pushing out two smartphones a year. Though it’s a little strange, this system is working for the company.
