With the recent discovery of what Cambridge Analytica did through Facebook, there are some politicians and users alike that want answers on privacy from tech companies. Senator Ron Wyden now wants answers. He wanted to know how the data collection happened in the first place, and Facebook also talked to Congressional staffers last week about the situation with Cambridge Analytica.
Now, the Senate Judiciary Committee has invited the CEOs of Google, Facebook and Twitter to come and testify on April 10th on data privacy procedures their companies have in place. Previously, the committee’s representatives talked to the companies regarding the handling of Russian misinformation, and now the chairman of Judiciary Committee, Chuck Grassley, has invited Zuckerberg, Sundar Pichai and Jack Dorsey to appear before the panel.
Bloomberg says that the House Energy and Commerce Committees, as well as the Senate Commerce Committee, have already called Zuckerberg to come and testify about what happened with Cambridge Analytica. Zuckerberg previously said that he will visit DC if he’s the right person to appear and talk.
