Many users have been reporting that they haven’t been able to log into Tinder. Now the dating service as provided confirmation following the complaints. Users that are affected are frequently getting stuck in a login loop where they’re asked for extra Facebook permissions, only to be sent back to log in again. Other users have reported that they’ve been able to sign in, but have reportedly lost all their messages and matches.
What’s behind this problem? It shouldn’t surprise you because it’s Facebook. The social media company altered its developers frameworks to improve upon data privacy. In a statement, Facebook confirmed that these problems were “part of the changes” and that it’s “working with Tinder” to fix these issues.
Currently, it seems that Tinder is affected by these changes, but don’t be surprised if other services start to struggle as well due to Facebook’s privacy changes. If you’ve been signed in and things work for you, perhaps it’s best to make sure you’re keeping track of all your conversation(s) and data in your Tinder account.
A technical issue is preventing users from logging into Tinder. We apologize for the inconvenience and are working to have everyone swiping again soon.
