Amazon now offering remote access to FreeTime parental controls

Amazon launched a Parent Dashboard last year that went along with its FreeTime subscriptions service aimed at children entertainment. The dashboard gives parents control on how much time their kids spend on the service and what they’ve read, played or watched. Additionally, it gives parents summaries of whatever their child has engaged with as well as prompts to foster conversation about it.

Now, Amazon is giving more control to parents with remote access. Previously, parents had to set time limits, daily goals, bedtimes and filters through their child’s device they would use. But now, they can do all of the editing and controlling through the Parent Dashboard from any web browser on their computer or mobile device.

It’s worth noting that if you do opt in for the remote parental controls tools through the dashboard, all the previous FreeTime settings will be completely erased. So be sure to take note of your current settings before you opt in for new features. Remote controls feature is now available for everyone.
